ISAC WELCOMES NEW BOARD OF TRUSTEES!
Last March 28, 2008, International Seafarers Action Center(ISAC) Phils. Foundation, Inc. held its 5th Annual Membership meeting at the ISAC Conference Room.
It was attended by a majority of the ISAC members and former board of trustees.
Highlights of the annual meeting was the election of new set of Board of Trustees and election of ISAC Executive Committee Officers. The following are the newly elected trustees for the year 2008 :

The new set of ISAC Trustees immediately hold its 1st Board meeting and planning of the year-round activities of ISAC.
The Year 2005 Board of Trustees drafted a five year strategic plan (2006-2010) for ISAC and calls to unite seafarers unions, organizations and advocates. ISAC will also work for an immediate revision of the POEA Standard Employment Contract to remove anti-seafarer provisions and would fight to amend Republic Act 8042 to advance the rights and welfare of seafarers and migrant workers.
Isac will also hold a Round Table Discussion on the Social Insurance provision of the Draft ILO Maritime Convention. The RTD which is the 10th in a series of fora organized by ISAC shall be held on November 23, 2005 at 2:00 pm at the Westin Plaza Hotel to coincide with the Lloyds Maritime Convention. The ILO representative and speakers from the SSS, OWWA, POEA, ITF, AMOSUP and other stakeholders are invited to give a brief presentation on the topic after which a round table discussion shall follow. As there are limited seats, early reservations and payment of registration fee of Php 1,000.00 is advised. Deadline for registration shall be on November 18, 2005.
